Memoria Press Online School hit by Hurricane Ike

I just wanted students in Memoria Press's Online Classical Academy to know that Louisville, Kentucky was hit yesterday by Hurricane Ike and electricity is out throughout much of the city, including our offices. As far as we know, everyone is fine, just without a few modern conveniences--like the Internet.

Some of our teachers are also without power. If you have a class today or tomorrow, please check in as usual, but be aware that your teacher may be without power and therefore may need to reschedule class. If your teacher is not present or if no class link appears for the class (in the case of audio/visual classes), that means your instructor cannot access the Internet.

We are trying to contact all of our teachers to confirm classes to and try to inform students in classes that are being canceled.

Also, you might think about postponing the taking of online quizzes for a day or two, since our server will be in and out until power in this part of the city has been restored. Our server is now up, but is running off of a generator, and so there will be interruptions. If you can plan on resuming your quizzes on Wednesday, please do so to avoid having power go out while you are taking them.

Thank you for your understanding and we apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you.
