Online Students and Parents,

I just wanted to make sure everyone knew that this is the first day of the Fall, 2007 term of the Online Classical Academy. Let remind you of several things:

  • You need to access the course page to get the instructions or lessons for a course.
  • Make sure you read all past News Forum posts for your course.
  • Even though your chats may be later in the week, you may begin your work today. You won't necessarily be expected to know the whole week's lesson by the time of your chat (since some chats occur in the middle of the week), but you should have a couple of days work of work under your belt.
  • Remember that the assignment dates are assignment dates, not due dates. If the date on a lesson is "Sept. 10", for example, that means you are to begin work on the lesson that day and should have it completed at the end of that week.
  • Remember also that in classes with more than one class chat, you may attend any chat during that week. You are not required to attend more than one.
  • You do not have to "sign up" for a particular chat. You simply show up to the chat that works best in your schedule.
  • If you have a question about a course issue, post it to the Q&A Forum in the course to which your question pertains. Don't post it here, or in the News Forum in the course (unless it has to do with the teacher's post in the News Forum).
  • Unless you have a reason to privately e-mail the instructor, ask your question in the course Q&A Forum. This way, others who might have the same question will see the answer, making it unnecessary for the instructor to answer the same question several times.
We are looking forward to an exciting semester of learning. Thank you for being a part of our program.
